We have known Warren Davies since 2017. Shortly after that he became our
accountant/bookkeeper. He has
willingly explained things in simple terms when one of us has struggled to grasp a
concept or proposition that has been put forward.
He is highly skilled and qualified as an accountant and managed our business Genial
Living and always gives sage advice. Warren is a born accountant and manages
every aspect of the finances. He often offers alternative solutions but will explain the
pros and cons of each option.
We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone. Warren is as honest as the day is long. He is a very humble person and is very understanding and empathetic in all situations. He has a high moral compass and would never advise anything without having the requisite knowledge and experience to be assured it was the best advice for that customer in their given situation.

Warren and his team onboarded us the beginning of this year when I was in quite a muddle and worrying about what to do next. They talked me through everything, put my worries to bed and took over the company accounts. Transforming Growth Potential into Profitable Reality: Helping a Nursery Group Thrive
This day care nursery group had limited capital and was looking to grow sustainably and maximise profitability. A strategy of protecting top performers, and unlocking the growth potential nurseries, was undertaken.
The top performers were easy to identify. Growth potential nurseries were more difficult. Identifying both the top performing nurseries to protect, as well as the untapped growth potential nurseries, resulted in a transformation in profitability and sustainable long-term growth.
The Management of this business ran day care nurseries of varying sizes and performance levels, in a few different locations. The nursery group faced three primary challenges:
1. Capital constraints: Limited funds meant careful prioritisation was essential.
2. Identifying growth opportunities: While top-performing nurseries were obvious, pinpointing those with potential for improvement was more complex.
3. Navigating the process: Managing investments, planning refurbishments, and ensuring minimal disruption required a structured approach.
The overarching challenge?
Balancing immediate profitability with long-term growth, while keeping stakeholders satisfied - including parents, nursery managers and staff.
A ranking and investment strategy was designed and implemented:
FIRSTLY, using a detailed scoring system, nurseries were ranked based on key metrics like:
- Ofsted ratings
- Occupancy levels
- Capacity and demand
- Profitability and debt
- Staffing and management quality
- Potential refurbishment costs
This provided clarity on which nurseries had the greatest growth potential or those who needed profit protection.
SECONDLY, for the nurseries identified as priority investment, and to confirm the choices in step 1, the managers were included to analyse:
- Local competition and demand
- Pricing strategies
- Staffing needs
- Investment costs and payback periods
This confirmed the targeted investment nurseries.
FINALLY, having agreed the priority nurseries, the refurbishments were planned to minimise operational disruption. Once completed, targeted marketing efforts to attract new parents were implemented. Importantly, results were monitored, and insights fed back into future projects.
THE IMPACT WAS TRANSFORMATIVE:
Ofsted ratings and operating capacities in top nurseries were maintained, and improvement and growth in profit and occupancy in potential nurseries was achieved.
The structured approach and long-term sustainable growth enabled further investment in the years that followed.
Stakeholders that were very satisfied included Nursery managers and staff, parents and kids, and the business owners who all saw tangible benefits.
Ultimately the strategy laid the foundation for a successful business exit, delivering significant returns for the owners.

New business development enabled a repurposed space to be turned into bottom line growth and profit
This health care provider was looking to grow its business and as a part of that considered looking inward for opportunity (increase occupancy) to do things differently, and to become more efficient in its service provision.
With this emphasis, many things were considered, with one consideration near the top of the list being a change of use development proposal. This opportunity was relatively easy and had a quick turnaround in terms of completion and future profit contribution.
The management of this business were having mixed results from a business perspective and were looking to improve their bottom line as part of their longer-term growth strategy.
The owners had recently purchased the business and were looking for a return on their investment. Business opportunities to improve profitability were explored.
FIRSTLY, the health care provider had a very old smoking room that was not been put to good use. The idea was to turn this room into accommodation, increasing occupancy at a relatively small conversion cost.
NEXT, A proposal was created where the research showed that the demand was there, and with a small cost of conversion, a quick turnaround was achieved once the project had been reviewed and agreed.
THE IMPACT WAS EXCEPTIONAL:
The conversion produced exceptional results for the business paying back the original cost within 5 months.
In addition, the internal rate of return was a mammoth 189% and the project improved the bottom line and contributed towards the long-term sustainable growth of the business.
